Why Harry Potter and Hermione Granger would have been great together

Though she married Ron and he married Ginny, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger would have been a great couple if we let them.

Most everyone has their favorite Harry Potter ship and we’ve loved them for so long, you can’t change our minds. For me, I’ve loved Harry and Hermione since I was a kid. And it is disappointing because we, as fans of these two, have been told that Rowling sometimes wished she had put them together. Terrible right?

Because here’s the thing, not getting your ship is fine and dandy. It sucks but you’ll survive. Not getting your ship and then hearing that the author would have liked your ship to happen? Even worse! Then we know that we, at some point, had a shot of getting what we wanted for both Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.

We could have had these two living their lives together as an auror and the Minister of Magic but instead she’s married to Ron and he’s married to Ginny. Which is fine and dandy but I, personally, would have rather seen Harry and Hermione figuring out the married life.

Again, this is all what I would have liked. It doesn’t mean to discount someone else’s ship. We’re all entitled to our own opinions. I just think that Harry and Hermione were a better match. For his lack of trying, she would cover him. And when he said something he most definitely shouldn’t, she’d be there to fix his little mess up.

They were perfect best friends and yes, maybe that’s all that they should have been but it doesn’t stop me (and countless other fans) from loving the idea of them as a couple. Because really, who hadn’t thought about it? Even if you were hardcore Harry/Ginny or Hermione/Ron, there had to be a moment when you thought “Harry/Hermione wouldn’t be terrible”!
