Patty Jenkins to team up with Chris Pine once more for a TNT limited series

It seems we’re not the only ones who can’t get enough of Chris Pine as Patty Jenkins is set to work with the star once more.

Patty Jenkins apparently also loves seeing Chris Pine in period dress because they’re teaming up for another project. And this time, Pine is going to be a paparrazo with a jaded past. Oh, and it’s about the Black Dahlia.

One Day She’ll Darken is set in 1949 and focuses on a girl named Hodel as she’s investigating her family. Chris Pine is to play Jay Singletary who is a former Marine who then turned to being a journalist.

While the story is still new and we don’t know too much, it is going to be a limited series for TNT and really: it’s 1949 Chris Pine. What’s not to love? The story will also focus on Hodel and her connection to the famous Dr. George Hodel, the man who is famous for being connected to the Black Dahlia case—the brutal unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short in 1947 Los Angeles.

We don’t know when the series will come to fruition since both are currently tied to other projects. Pine is about to begin work on another David Mackenzie film entitled Outlaw King. The two previously worked together on the Oscar nominated film Hell or High Water.

Patty Jenkins is currently rumored to be in talks about the announced Wonder Woman 2 so it may be some time before we see One Day She’ll Darken. But who knows, maybe we’ll see these two team up again if Pine somehow ends up in Wonder Woman 2.

Either way, we’re excited for this show. Black Dahlia, Chris Pine dressed as a journalist in 1949, AND Patty Jenkins? What’s not to be excited about?

Next: Wonder Woman 2 has a release date and we have to wait a little bit

You can catch Patty Jenkins’s work (as well as Chris Pine’s) in Wonder Woman out in theaters now. Also check back here on Culturess for all things One Day She’ll Darken.
