Taylor Swift scored a major victory this week in her trial with radio DJ David “Jackson” Mueller when a judge in the case, on Wednesday, sanctioned Mueller for destroying multiple electronic devices. The judge is to believe that these devices served as evidence in the case. This proves evidence against Mueller and gives Swift one step closer to a winning trial.

According to the Denver Post, the U.S. District Judge William Martinez has allowed Swift’s attorneys to question Mueller about a two-hour conversation with his boss, Robert Call he secretly recorded the day before he was fired. Mueller also admitted to destroying or losing electronic devices, including a cell phone, laptop, iPad, and computer. While Mueller claims that he only spilled cover on the devices, the judge believes differently.

These recordings are critical evidence since Martinez believes the call claims that Mueller changed his story when confronted by his boss about Swift’s claim against him. Mueller went on to say that Swift was indeed groped but blamed his ‘superior’ at KYGO, Eddie Haskell. “Call explained that one reason for Plaintiff’s termination was because Call perceived Plaintiff had ‘changed his story that it couldn’t have occurred, then that it was incidental,'” Martinez wrote in his decision.

Mueller sued Swift back in September 2015 claiming that Swift falsely accused him of groping her during a meet-and-greet with him and his girlfriend back in 2013. According to Swift, Mueller lifted up her skirt and proceeded to grope her against her will and without her permission. After the incident took place, Swift informed her photographer, tour manager, and security team.

The trial between Mueller and Swift has been set for early August. Our prayers and support go out to Swift during this time and wish her the best of luck in the days leading up to the trial.
