Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie trailer makes us remember why we loved the show

“Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie” finally has a trailer as we learned at #SDCC on Friday, and it reminds all us ’90s kids why we loved the show and all of its characters.

This year’s San Diego Comic Con is bringing out all the ’90s nostalgia. Next up: Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie.

If you’re a ’90s kid like me, you grew up on all these old Nickelodeon cartoons. When Hey Arnold! finally ran its course, rumors ran abundant about the lost “Jungle Movie” that told the fate of Arnold’s parents. But it never came to fruition and questions remained unanswered.

Until now!

The trailer Nickelodeon released brings back all the feels for all these characters:

This one has much more emotional weight than the Rocko’s Modern Life trailer revealed at the conference earlier this week. Hey Arnold was very much a show about kids learning to get through difficulties, learning to get along with each other, and learning to just be yourself, no matter the social consequences.

This trailer reminds you of how pure the show was—and apparently still will be.

It even gives you flashbacks to all the things Arnold did for others throughout the series. That throwback to Stoop Kid makes me happy, and I may have teared up at Pigeon Man.

And yes, Helga still harbors that insanely deep crush on Arnold.

The voices all sound pretty darn good, especially since it’s a different Arnold and Gerald (and a handful of other students). And the animation looks similar to the trailer for Rocko: crisp and clean for the new HD technology, slightly updated wardrobes, but still that same Arnold feel.

This movie will be a direct sequel to Hey Arnold: The Movie back in 2002. And if you were hoping for a reboot to follow, you might be out of luck. Nickelodeon has said this will be a definitive end to the series, wrapping up all those loose threads that drove us crazy as kids.

I, for one, cannot wait to see what answers lie ahead for our Football Head.
