It seems like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is less about Newt and his friends and more about Dumbledore and…are you excited about it?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them introduced us to a whole bunch of new characters. We fell in love with Newt Scamander and his group and we only wanted to hear more and more about them. As each new story comes out about the sequel, I’m starting to have my doubts.
It’s not that I don’t trust J.K Rowling and company but it’s more that I feel like they’re going to force too much to happen in the follow up movies and it is going to make Newt and his friends less of a focus. So, why does that suck?
Well let me put it to you this way: we were given these new characters to fall in love with. We cared about what happened to Jacob Kowalski and we wanted Queenie and Tina to be happy. For the follow up series to completely different from what the first movie brought to life makes me a little upset.
Is this a bad thing?
Now I’m not saying that’s what is happening. It just seems like the focus will now be on Grindelwald and Dumbledore’s relationship and how the wizarding world eventually ended up at the point we saw when the Harry Potter series began.
Again, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I just wish they wouldn’t have brought up these characters and made us care if that’s what they were doing to do. We don’t know much yet but it seems as if the focus will shift further away from the main four we met in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and more onto Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
Next: Maybe David Thewlis will always be Remus Lupin to us
Are you happy either way? Would you rather it be on Dumbledore and Grindelwald or Newt and his friends? Sound off in the comments below and let us know how you feel about the next installment to the Fantastic Beasts franchise!
