A Wrinkle in Time is an extremely important story and now Ava DuVernay is bringing it to life and I can’t stop thinking about the trailer.
The trailer for A Wrinkle in Time came out on Saturday and here’s the thing: I’m still thinking about it. Maybe that’s because Ava DuVernay brought to life this magical world and the trailer alone has everyone excited.
Unfortunately we have quite a while until the movie hits our screens. It doesn’t come out until 2018. So now we’re all hyped, we’re all into it and we have to sit around and wait. Maybe that’s why I’m still thinking about how beautiful everything looked. How strong Meg (played by Storm Reid) is and the grace and elegance of the Mrses.
Now I’m one of those who never had to read A Wrinkle in Time growing up. Why? Maybe all my teachers hated me, I don’t know. Either way, I never picked it up until I found out this movie was being made.
I mean, come on. A movie with my favorite actor (Chris Pine), Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, and OPRAH?! Who wouldn’t be interested? So I went out, picked it up, and cried reading it on the subway. That’s how powerful this story is, even as an adult.
Even if you’re not a woman, it still holds a message that we can all save the world. We all have the potential for good and we just have to use it. Meg, a 13 year old girl, is stronger than most and she teaches us all, especially young girls, that no one can stop us.
Next: The trailer for A Wrinkle in Time is finally here and we’re excited!
Honestly, it is just a brilliant story and with the creative eye of Ava DuVernay behind the lens, this is going to be a movie you don’t want to miss. But make sure to pick up the book before the movie comes out. It’s extremely good. Just don’t read it on the subway. That was embarrassing.
