10 of the dumbest things Luke Skywalker has ever said or done in a Star Wars film

8. The alleged Force kick (0:48)
Which Star Wars film it happened in: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi
This happens in television and movies all the time, but it was not intentional. It’s so blatant and hilarious that it’s its own joke within the Star Wars fandom, but this was not a Force kick. It was just bad editing.
Basically, Luke makes his way to Jabba’s Palace to rescue Princess Leia and Han Solo. Naturally, Jabba attempts to execute him for interfering. For the sake of dinner and a show, Jabba decides to throw him into the Sarlacc pit. When a fight breaks out, Lando’s thrown overboard, leaving nearly-blind Han Solo to save him as Luke fights everyone off and tries to return to the ship.
In the ensuing battle, he whips out his green lightsaber and starts to wreck all of Jabba’s cronies. At one point, as he stands on one of the hovercrafts, he lifts a sexy booted leg and kicks someone. While it would be really cool in theory, Luke never actually makes contact with this guy. Of course, “this guy” is a stunt double, whose poor timing makes it all the more obvious. When Luke attacks, the guy throws his gun up and falls back way too late.
Apparently, Force kicks are only a legit thing when they’re used to cover up technical goofs. I’m alright with it, I mean, why stop at choking? But can we all agree that Force kicks only came into existence because Luke’s legs are too short?
