10 of the dumbest things Luke Skywalker has ever said or done in a Star Wars film

3. Apologizing to Ponda Boba and Cornelius Evazan
Which Star Wars film it happened in: Episode IV – A New Hope
If a guy at the bar says “I don’t like you,” you have two choices: defend yourself and perhaps escalate the situation, or at the very least, get out of the way. Option three is what Luke Skywalker does and that’s to say, “I’m sorry” and just put his head back down. While that seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do to some people, Ponda Boba (the one that has a chimp’s butt for a face) and Cornelius Evazan are clearly looking for a fight.
Two of the ugliest dudes at the Mos Eisley Cantina pulled farmboy aside, got in his face and tried to start something. If someone did that in real life, feel free to take your drink somewhere else. Chances are you’re not going to have the legendary Obi-Wan Kenobi come up behind you to defend your honor.
The exchange became so iconic that both Ponda Boba and Cornelius Evazan reappeared elsewhere in the Star Wars universe. Early in Rogue One, Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor travel to Jedha. While they’re there, they run into the two familiar faces, which makes enough sense since Rogue One and A New Hope take place around the same time. Once again, Baboono and Scarface almost cause a scene, but Cassian did the smart thing and kept walking … as Luke should’ve done.
