Derek Hale – Teen Wolf

Although Derek isn’t the main wolf in Teen Wolf, he’s absolutely the best of the bunch. (No offense, Scott.) Derek is about as traditionally good-looking as any man can be. He’s tall, dark, and handsome, and can rock a 5 o’clock stubble better than any supernatural being I’ve ever seen. Oh, and those blue eyes could make you do terrible things.

Derek started out as a mentor to the main character of the show, Scott, but they quickly had differences of opinion over morals and values and such. Even after they had their disagreements, however, Derek stayed loyal to Scott (mostly), and went on to become one of his most trusted allies. He even died a little bit helping the gang in Mexico, and as a result got some fancy new powers, including the ability to shift into a fully-formed wolf.

Derek fought alongside Scot and the gang, and the best moments were when his shirt was ripped off and we got a load of those arms and shoulders. But he wasn’t just all muscles and clenched jaw. He had a soft side as well. That is, before all the terrible things that happened to him to grind it out of him.

Although he was romantic, he had a pretty tragic past with love and women. We find out, through flashbacks and loads of retroactive exposition, that he’s really a tortured soul with a really wounded heart. This accounts for the gruff and stoic exterior, but his withering glower and incredulous eyebrow made up for all the grouchiness.
