Just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger … the LEGO franchise adds another feather to its already very feathery hat: A video game in conjunction with their newest film, NINJAGO.

The announcement was made earlier today by Warner Bros. Interactive, in conjunction with TT Games and The LEGO Group. In preparation for the release of LEGO NINJAGO, fans have an opportunity to explore its world and characters through a variety of levels and locations.

According to the press release published on BusinessWire, players have the opportunity to guide the characters through eight different locations with increasingly difficult enemies to combat. The game also allows up to four people to battle each other in a split-screen setup, akin to our most favorite PlayStation and XBOX games of our youth. This sort of thing always lent to sibling rivalries around the holidays in my experience, but sounds fun all the same.

Check out the announcement trailer below:

NINJAGO is a timeless tale of good versus evil, co-opting tropes from martial arts movies through the ages. The story revolves around a young group of ninjas, who live and train under a sensei named Master Wu on the island of Ninjago. Their home and their way of life become threatened when the villain Lord Garmadon descends upon Ninjago with his Shark Army (which sounds terrifying unto itself). The young ninjas are students of the art of Spinjitzu, which I gather to mean that there’s going to be a lot of cool fight scenes in this movie. Also knowing that Jackie Chan is voicing the sensei Wu, there will probably be a lot of fun Kung-Fu film influence. (Yeah, I know it’s animated but still!)

Next: Netflix’s Okja is a movie of contrasts, but is oddly compelling

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie will star Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Olivia Munn, Abbi Jacobson, Kumail Nanjiani, among many more. The video game will be available to play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. The video game and the movie plan to release concurrently on Sept. 22, 2017.
