This week, Taylor Swift returned via video with her naturally curly hair to congratulate NBA MVP Russel Westbrook.

The pop superstar has kept things low key on social media these past few months, but every now and then she will make an appearance. Sometimes she returns in support of her friends, and other times, she’ll drop a song with Zayn without telling us. But we always love a Swift return, and this time around, it’s better than we expected.

Not only did we get to see Swift’s naturally curly hair in the video, but we got some Swift humor to go along with it. The naturally beautiful superstar filmed the video by herself, and even though Westbrook and Swift have never met, we’re almost certain they would be good friends.

The 28-year-old basketball player previously shared that he was a big fan of Swift’s music. According to PEOPLE, Westbrook has been posting videos singing along to Swift’s music, and even attending her concerts since 2013. He’s a major Swiftie, and we love it.

In the video, Swift jokes in a cute way as she reflects on her and Westbrook met. “Russell, it’s Taylor, remember? I was the one who taught you how to play basketball,” she joked in the video posted to Oklahoma City Thunder’s Twitter page late Monday night (June 26). “I remember the first time you beat me at basketball and I was very upset and you said, if you remember correctly, you said, “you just have to shake it off”.

“So essentially we have each other to thank for these careers obviously. So that’s why I’m part of your congratulations video because we go back, what, 20 years — actually that’s a fake story and I wish it were the truth. You are amazing, you are the MVP, I am so happy for you. Sending you the biggest hug ever. Congratulations!” It was a sweet video, and we’re so thankful to Westbrook for bringing Swift back to the social media world.

Swift hasn’t been around much lately, but many fans are suspecting that she is about to make a big return. There have been certain things happening in Swift’s world that could be giving us a hint at things to come. She recently released her entire back catalog on Spotify and other streaming services, her music is now on Musica.ly, and iTunes put all of Swift’s albums on sale a few weeks ago. Will we be getting new Swift music soon? We hope so. But until then, we’ll enjoy Swift’s curly hair.
