You’d think one would be enough but according to the family tree on Pottermore, there are two Harry Potters. Hopefully one has better luck than the other!

There are two Harry Potters. That’s right, not just the Boy Who Lived who we grew up with but now we’ve learned that there was another Harry Potter in the mix. According to his family tree on Pottermore, Harry had another Harry in the family.

Harry’s great-grandfather was Henry Potter but he had a very cool nickname. That’s right, his close friends liked to call him Harry.

"Henry Potter (Harry to his intimates), who was a direct descendant of Hardwin and Iolanthe, and served on the Wizengamot from 1913 – 1921. Henry caused a minor stir when he publicly condemned then Minister for Magic, Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War.His outspokenness on the behalf of the Muggle community was also a strong contributing factor in the family’s exclusion from the ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’."

And it seems from that description that the two Harrys are pretty similar. Both are outspoken. And both seem to get themselves in a lot of trouble for it. For fans though, it almost feels like a betrayal.

Here we are thinking that there is only one Harry Potter and whoops! No, that’s not right at all! Now there are two running amuck and honestly, the Potter family has some bad luck and also they’re not afraid to let their opinions be known.
