Playing the “what-if” game: What if Harry Potter never went to Hogwarts?

When it comes to Harry Potter, he had to go to Hogwarts to make anything really happen in those books. But what if he never got to go?

Harry Potter ran the risk of never going to Hogwarts. His uncle and aunt didn’t want him to go and took great lengths to try and keep him from doing so. So what if they succeeded? Well, first off, we wouldn’t have a book series. That much is obvious.

But it is interesting to think about. If Harry Potter was just about a boy who had magical powers who couldn’t figure out how to use them, we’d still have a fun time reading. Even better if Voldemort and his Death Eaters still came for Harry.

But alas, we have a wondrous series we all love when Harry did, in fact, go to Hogwarts. But it does make you stop and think about what this series could have been like if a series of things didn’t happen. For me personally, I always want to see what this series would be like if Sirius Black never died.

Why? Because he’s the best and he shouldn’t died. But that’s for a whole different kind of post. Like, what would this series be like if James and Lily were never killed but hid Harry away for safe keeping?

Wouldn’t that have been a nice twist? Alas, again, it never came to be because our poor Potters were murdered. But all this is really a testament to how amazing this series is as a whole. We just love it so much that we have so many “what if this happened” instead theories!
