Chloe Price – Life is Strange: Before the Storm
It’s hard to imagine returning to Arcadia Bay after the emotional ending of Life is Strange, but how about a prequel? It’s time to revisit Chloe Price once again in Before the Storm, which takes place just when the title says it does, and before Chloe had her iconic blue hair. It follows her friendship, not with Max, but with Rachel Amber, a character who Chloe hints “saved her life” once.
We’re not sure how Before the Storm will handle the choice-based, time-rewinding mechanics that the first game was known for without Max’s camera, though we do see it briefly in the trailer. Does Amber use the camera for awhile? Does Chloe, then does she forget? We don’t get to see much of it, even in a 30-minute gameplay demo at E3 that does not put a heavy emphasis on choice. It all stands to be complex, emotional, and perhaps very difficult to sift through given that we know the ending of the first Life is Strange.
But given the goodness of the first game, I think it’s best to trust, especially with Chloe at the helm. It all stands to be complex, emotional, and perhaps even tougher to handle, given that we know the ending of the first Life is Strange.
