Wonder Woman 2 is happening and you’ll be excited for who’s on it

When it comes to Wonder Woman, most of us are on the same page. It’s pretty perfect. So with news of the sequel, we want to know all there is!

Variety sat down with Wonder Woman co-screenwriter Geoff Johns to talk about the sequel.  Johns and Jon Berg are the two in charge of overseeing the DC Extended Universe. They are responsible for Wonder Woman as well as the less than favorable Man of Steel, Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman.

But after the success that our Amazonian Princess is having, it is no surprise that a sequel is already underway. After all, who doesn’t want more of Diana Prince saving the world with a makeshift crew?

When Geoff Johns was asked if Patty was being brought on to direct the sequel, his response made us squeal.

"Patty and I are writing the treatment right now. The goal is to make another great “Wonder Woman” film. I had a blast making it with Patty the first time. We’ve got a cool idea for the second one."

And, even more importantly, Jon Berg talked about Diana’s role in Justice League and whether or not she’ll have a bigger role now with the success of her stand alone film.

"Her role won’t change, but she was already playing a big role. People really responded to Gal [Gadot] in “Batman v. Superman.” We knew we had something special."

And he’s right! When Diana appeared in Batman V. Superman, the lack of coherent storyline didn’t matter anymore. All we cared about was watching Wonder Woman take on Doomsday with the ease of the Amazons.
