Taylor Swift Made Cameo in ’13 Reasons Why’

Taylor Swift is the last person you think about when it comes to 13 Reasons Why. The series deals with tough issues including, suicide, bullying, and self-harm, all things that you don’t think about when it comes to Taylor Swift or her music.

The show is about a young teenage girl Hannah Baker, who literally couldn’t handle everything she was dealing and struggling with. The show goes through Hannah’s story through a series of tapes that she records before she, unfortunately, ends her life. It’s a sad ending for Hannah, but it’s how Selena Gomez and the other producers wanting the audience to see the issues teens are facing today.

While the show is dark, that doesn’t mean that Taylor Swift couldn’t slip in a lighthearted cameo of her best friend. It’s true that Swift’s face did make a quick cameo in the show. You may have missed the cameo the first time around because the shot is super quick, but if you take a second look, you’ll definitely see the 1989 album cover in the background.

Woah. How cool is it that Gomez chose to put a piece of artwork, made by one of the students in the show in an episode? The serious question though, is which character in the show is a Swiftie? How often do they listen to 1989 on repeat? We can only hope that this is the very thing that is revealed next. If you want to see the cameo for yourself, watch episode 10 in the series.
