5 things we want from the Wonder Woman sequel
Diana and little girls
Wonder Woman does not just provide inspiration and lessons to real-life little girls, although that’s definitely really important (and also, seeing kids dressed up like Wonder Woman is adorable). Within the universe of previous films and comics, she’s also provided lessons to girls she meets whenever. Perhaps my favorite example comes from the 2009 animated movie, where Diana tells a little girl to “unleash hell” after a few lessons in how to fight with a wooden sword.
(Also, that little, amused “neither do they” in relation to seeing the boys fighting? It’s hilarious. I fully expect Gal Gadot is up to the challenge of conveying that kind of emotion, even if the next movie probably shouldn’t recreate this scene perfectly.)
Since Wonder Woman, in the universe of the live-action films, has been active off and on since World War I, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that she’s well-known by at least some parts of the world. Even if she isn’t, Diana clearly loves children — having wanted to hold a baby right upon her arrival in London — and would be more than happy to provide them with some life lessons about how a thrust is really more practical in close combat.
Or, okay, about just being more kind and loving in general, and appreciating the sacrifices of others. Just give us Diana Prince or Wonder Woman inspiring more children.
