This Thor: Ragnarok parody parodies a classic Led Zeppelin song
If you weren’t already excited for “Thor: Ragnarok,” this fantastic cartoon parody will amp you up more. And it has a bonus Led Zeppelin parody
Remember when the Thor: Ragnarok trailer came out? It felt so unexpected! Was your social media also full of gifs of Thor saying, “He’s a friend from work,” like mine?
What also made it memorable, as I am a huge music nerd, is the choice of song. It’s been a thing in recent years that many movie trailers use classic rock songs (Suicide Squad and the newest Mummy spring to mind immediately for starters).
For Thor: Ragnarok to use “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin, however, is more than fitting, because the song is very much about Norse mythology. The effects and cuts in the trailer mesh well with the song, too.
What makes that even better is that now we have a parody of that trailer. A cartoon parody, even! Check it out below:
Okay, so it’s a little different from the actual “Immigrant Song,” for copyright reasons of course. But everything the creators point out is hilariously accurate.
No, I’m not just talking about the “Tom Hiddleston have her child” sign or the obligatory Stan Lee cameo (in a parody of a trailer, no less!), but those are great, too.
Because this is absolutely going to be a buddy film with a Thor/Hulk team up. To have a director with a more comedic background bodes well. One of the few good things about The Dark World was its humor, and if it’s made more of a focal point, we only benefit. Plus, Doctor Strange will show up, too.
And of course they had to put Jeff Goldblum in that pose from Jurassic Park, how can you not?
This has such a Nineties cartoon vibe to it, and that’s both super fun and works with the Eighties vibe this movie already looks to have.
Next: Finally, Kingsman is getting a series of Funko Pops and you can even own Harry!
Thor: Ragnarok smashes into theaters November 3rd, 2017. And enjoy having “Immigrant Song” stuck in your head for the next few days!
