Austin Swift is opening up about his career dreams and his sister’s influence in a new interview.

As Taylor Swift continues to remain out of the spotlight, her brother is doing his best to break into acting and spoke to Vanity Fair this week about his sister’s career and how he’s learned from her success.

“She found singing, and I knew from very early on that that was her direction. She was never going to quit; that was her thing, that was her life . . . and I was always a little bit, you know, doing this, doing that,” he explained.

Taylor Swift’s success motivated Austin to pursue his own dreams

According to Austin, watching his sister achieve her dreams, or rather her “Wildest Dreams,” prompted him to go after his own dreams and ultimately led him to seek a career in entertainment, as well.

“Something I learned myself, and learned through watching her, is respect,” he said. “You just respect everyone’s time, everyone that you’re working with. They’re all there, it’s all their lives, and you need to put the work in to be worth that.”

Austin Swift was a bit of a loner

As a child, Austin kept to himself and didn’t have a lot of friends. Instead, he found refuge at the movie theater and grew close to the characters of his favorite films.

“I would go to the movies, and Daniel Craig was my friend, and Christian Bale was my friend, and Clive Owen was my friend, and Viggo Mortensen was my friend,” he joked.
