Taylor Swift’s feud with Katy Perry has caught the attention of Ohio governor John Kasich.

According to a new report, Kasich appeared on an episode of The View earlier this week and discussed the drama between the two singers.

“Well it’s shocking to everybody. Don’t ever steal anybody’s dancers, is the message,” Kasich said, according to a report by Billboard magazine on May 26.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry used to be friends

Before Perry allegedly stole a few of Swift’s dancers from her world tour, she and Perry were friends. Now, years later, they are completely estranged and two alleged diss tracks have been written: Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Perry’s “Swish, Swish.”

Are Katy Perry’s latest comments all about getting publicity?

According to Kasich, the latest drama between Swift and Perry, which has been solely due to comments made by Perry as Swift remains silent, may be nothing more than an attempt at getting attention.

“Maybe they’re just trying to get some extra press, although I don’t know that Taylor Swift needs any more press,” Kasich explained to his co-hosts on The View. “In fact, she kind of went into hiding, and now they say she’s going to reemerge with a new sound.”

“I will tell you, [Taylor Swift] met my wife and kids at a concert. She knew everything about my wife and my children. She was just unbelievably great,” Kasich bragged. “And Katy, you know, I have a friend that knows Katy Perry, and she’s very talented. So, two great pop artists.”
