Unlikable TV Characters: We hate them because they really deserve it

Don’t send me angry letters, people. I know Sheldon is one of the more beloved characters on this show, but if you take a closer look at how he acts, you can’t deny that is one of the most irritating characters, well, ever.

It’s not a crime to have a few personal quirks, and I won’t hold his struggles with anxiety and social awkwardness against him. I can, however, hold him accountable for going out of his way to make the people in his life downright miserable. And the worst part about it is that he doesn’t really care, or at least he doesn’t seem to. He insults his friends, demands everything be his way, and is completely inflexible.

Whether it’s where he sits on the couch, what they have for dinner, or adhering to the roommate agreement, he’s nasty about everything. I guess that comes with have zero empathy or social skills, and you have to hand it to his friends for their unrelenting patience in dealing with his eccentricities. I think I would have long ago had to hurt his feelings, and I certainly would have packed my stuff and left a long time ago.
