A horror classic, The Shining, debuts at Halloween Horror Nights this September. The new Shining haunted maze will terrify guests at every turn.

What do you fear? Halloween and horror films play on people’s fears. Considered a classic, psychological horror film, “The Shining” has frightened audiences for decades. Universal announced that The Shining haunted maze  will be added to the Halloween Horror Nights terrifying experiences.

Continually ranked as the best Halloween theme park experience, Halloween Horror Nights offers an immersive, frightening experience for guests. From haunted houses to scare actors, guests will have to be careful around every turn. This Halloween event isn’t for the sacredly cats.

According to Universal Media, the new Shining maze will incorporate many of the iconic moments from the classic horror film. The new maze is described as follows:

"While venturing through the eerie Overlook Hotel, guests will be thrust into the hotel’s tragic history of murder and madness, bearing witness to caretaker Jack Torrance’s spiraling descent into insanity. Nightmarish visions will come to life in this macabre maze, overwhelming guests with the “shine” of the murderous, ghostly entities that lurk around every turn – all while trying to escape the wrath of Jack Torrance as he violently succumbs to the hotel’s paranormal forces."

2017 marks the 27th Halloween Horror Nights at Universal. The event runs on select nights from September 15 through November 4, 2017. It is a separate ticketed event.

The theme park transforms into terrifying nightmares. From movie inspired haunts to insanely ghoulish scenes, guests cannot hide from these frights. Scare actors lurk in the darkness. This event preys on everyone’s deepest, darkest fears.
