Dwayne Johnson is literally a rock as he carries SNL cast in season finale promo

Dwayne Johnson heads to Saturday Night Live to host the season 42 finale and the new promo shows us how he’s taken his host duties to new heights.

If you’re still wondering about Dwayne Johnson’s status as a really cool guy, you can stop wondering now. He’s cool, he’s hilarious and he has a new movie coming out called Baywatch. Yeah, it’s a remake. But the first didn’t have The Rock and Zac Efron, so it doesn’t matter.

Regardless, The Rock’s being cool again and flexing his comedy muscles on this week’s episode of Saturday Night Live. In addition to hosting the season 42 finale, this will also mark his fifth appearance as a host.

The “Five-Timer’s Club” is a pretty big deal and nothing to scoff at either. Melissa McCarthy earned her way into the club last week, and now it’s time for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to mosey on through. Furthermore, Saturday’s episode will be the last broadcast airing live across the nation.

(The are four timezones in America, so SNL’s 11:30 ET show will be seen at the same time as the people tuning in at 8:30 PT — LIVE!)

So check out the promo below:

Basically, it goes like this:

"While Beck Bennett struggles to give Johnson a piggyback onto the Studio 8H stage, the Baywatch star happily switches spots, adding a lot more bodies to make the ultimate piggyback tower."

However, let it be known that all those people aren’t really balancing twenty feet in mid-air on Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s back. Don’t get me wrong — he’s a really solid guy, in every sense of the word. But I’m pretty sure that defies both physics and work safety laws in New York City and NBC specifically.

Nevertheless, the idea remains pretty cool. And very on brand for Dwayne.
