Was Harry Styles’ “Two Ghosts” written about his former flame, Taylor Swift?

Ever since the singer first teased the new track earlier this month, fans have suspected such and during an interview days ago, following the May 12 release of his first solo album, Styles seemingly confirmed the rumors.

“I think it’s pretty self-explanatory, right?” Styles said during an interview with BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw, via Billboard Magazine.

“Same lips red, same eyes blue
Same white shirt, couple more tattoos
But it’s not you and it’s not me
Tastes so sweet, looks so real
Sounds like something that I used to feel
But I can’t touch what I see”

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles dated for just weeks

According to Bustle, Swift and Styles began dating in fall 2014 but weren’t photographed together until they stepped out in New York City for a zoo date at Central Park in December. Then, in January, they reportedly called it quits.

While Swift and Styles’ romance didn’t last, the former couple has never said anything hurtful about one another publicly. In fact, they appear to have parted ways amicably and earlier this month, Styles thanked Swift for their time together during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

“If you run into that person, maybe it’s awkward, maybe you have to get drunk … but you shared something. Meeting someone new, sharing those experiences, it’s the best s** ever. So thank you,” he said, according to a report by People Magazine.
