Get excited for Spider-Man: Homecoming with newly released photos
With “Spider-Man: Homecoming” being Marvel’s next release, get excited with new photos showcasing his classmates and friends.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is Marvel’s next movie, hitting theaters right in the heat of summer. While this is our third iteration of Spidey in the last decade, shouldn’t we be tired?
Not just yet!
The trailers really haven’t shown us much so far, just a few quick looks at supporting characters (and Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark). One thing they have done is show that this is going to be a very high school-centric movie.
Which makes sense, since, you know, Peter Parker is a high school kid.

The photos that Marvel and Sony released on Friday showcase some of the high school cohorts we will meet in the film. This includes his best friend Ned Leeds, his love interest Liz Allen, and a closer look at Michelle. Who most definitely is not Mary Jane. (With a possible wink-wink at the end of that last sentence.)
Because Zendaya is very adamant that she’s not playing the fan-favorite redhead we all know and love.
My hope is still that she’s somehow Felicia Hardy so we can see Black Cat in future sequels (because, come on, there’s going to be more Spider-Man films).
It’ll be fun to see this be more of a high school kind of thing. Not that the other Spider-Man films weren’t high school-oriented. But both actors were playing a teenager well after leaving their teenage years. There’s only so much movie magic that can be done. While Tom Holland is out of his teens, he’s the youngest iteration of Peter Parker we’ve had.
And don’t worry, we shouldn’t be seeing Uncle Ben dying again.
