Taylor Swift is always there for her friends but after a dramatic 2016, which included a couple of breakups and a highly publicized feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, she’s taking some time for herself.

According to a new report, Swift’s breakup from Tom Hiddleston in summer of last year marked the start of a new pattern of behavior for the 27-year-old singer.

On May 6, E! News shared a report regarding Swift’s exit from the spotlight in late 2016 and noted her failure to release an album by the end of last year. While Swift never announced plans to release a new album at that time, fans suspected she would do so due to her pattern of releasing new albums every two years.

Swift also shocked fans by performing just one live show in 2016. As the outlet revealed, Swift’s one and only performance took place during the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix weekend.

Taylor Swift has performed just one show in 2017

Following her single performance in 2016, Swift appears to be continuing on with her break from the spotlight in 2016 and has participated in just one concert thus far. During a Super Bowl celebration, Swift returned to Texas and was seen singing “This Is What You Came For” and “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” at the event.

Taylor Swift has been nearly silent on social media

As she continues to enjoy “me time” as she prepares for the upcoming release of her new album, Swift has pumped her breaks on her social media updates and shared just a few in recent months. As fans may recall, Swift appeared on Instagram two months ago to promote her friend Lorde’s new single, “Green Light,” and did the same for the Haim sisters and their new song, “Want You Back,” weeks later.
