Does Taylor Swift have a diss track coming her way?
While fans have surely been waiting for Katy Perry’s response to Swift’s 2014 hit “Bad Blood,” Perry stayed mum on her upcoming album during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person,” Perry told Entertainment Weekly, according to a report by Hollywood Life on May 8.
Although Perry wouldn’t confirm plans for a response to “Bad Blood,” she certainly hinted that her new songs may come with an agenda.
“You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that,” she insisted.
Katy Perry may be taking a page out of Taylor Swift’s book
Perry clearly doesn’t want to make her new album about anyone but herself, but could she be staying quiet about her true feelings because Swift did the same? As fans well know, “Bad Blood” was believed to be written about Perry but Swift never confirmed or addressed the topic.
“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place,” Perry continued. “Period end of story. But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction or a consequence so don’t forget about that, okay, honey.”
