Taylor Swift and Harry Styles may have dated for just weeks but according to reports, the singer wrote two hit tracks about their relationship.
Although Swift and Styles never confirmed the rumors, which suggested “Style” and “Out of the Woods” were written about their time together, Style recently opened up about their romance during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine’s Cameron Crowe.
“Certain things don’t work out. There’s a lot of things that can be right, and it’s still wrong,” Styles explained, via People Magazine, after being asked if he had anything to say about Swift now.
According to Styles, he and Swift shared something real and while it ended quickly, he appreciates the short-lived romance.
Harry Styles has been inspired by Taylor Swift
“In writing songs about stuff like that, I like tipping a hat to the time together,” he explained. “You’re celebrating the fact it was powerful and made you feel something, rather than, ‘This didn’t work out, and that’s bad.’ And if you run into that person, maybe it’s awkward, maybe you have to get drunk … but you shared something.”
“Meeting someone new, sharing those experiences, it’s the best s*** ever. So thank you,” he said, referring to Swift.
Taylor Swift and Harry Styles dated for one month
Swift and Styles were first seen together during a date to the Central Park Zoo in New York City in December 2012. One month later, they parted ways.
Speaking of their zoo visit, Styles noted that relationships are hard and because of the outside interference of the paparazzi, things between them felt a bit awkward.
“ You’re on a date with someone you really like. It should be that simple, right? It was a learning experience for sure. But at the heart of it – I just wanted it to be a normal date,” he said.
