The Windy City is filled with hotel options. A stay at the Virgin Hotel Chicago blends style, sophistication and a few whimsical sheep.

Choosing a hotel comes with many options. Location, amenities and even hotel points are deciding factors. Chicago hotels are plentiful. From historic to luxurious to economical, every visitor has many options. For guests wanting style, sophistication and a little whimsy, Virgin Hotel Chicago is the place to stay.

Located in Chicago’s theater district at the corner of Lake and Wabash, Virgin Hotel Chicago is conveniently located to many of the city’s must-visit attractions. Just blocks away from Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, guests can peruse Chicago’s vast shopping. The Art Institute is a quick walk and the Museum Campus is a short Uber ride away.

Beyond the convenient location, the hotel itself provides a luxurious and cheeky experience for its guests.

Whether traveling for pleasure or work, the Virgin Hotel offers an ample standard room for its guests. The setup of the hotel room is more European. After entering, guests pass through a bathroom, vanity area to the bedroom. The bathroom featured a rainforest shower and vanity seating with lighted mirror and separate water closet. The whole area seemed to cater to the woman traveler. The separate lighted vanity with pedestal was perfect to get ready in the morning.

The bedroom area offered a plush bed with ample pillows. Side tables and lightning made for convenient nighttime reading. Additionally, the room offered a table and chair, which was perfect to accomplish any work.

But what about that sheep?

Given the reputation of the Virgin brand, guests have come to expect luxury and high-end amenities. But, the brand also has a great sense of humor about themselves. That’s where the sheep comes into play. Upon checking in, a small plastic sheep was in my shower. Although unusual, I thought it was cute. Come to find out, that little sheep might take a journey around the room. Maybe he moves to the sink or the bedside table. The sheep adds to the cheeky personality of the hotel.

The little sheep weren’t the only quirky items in the hotel. Small ceramic dogs decorated hallways, fabric walls were many, and the television announcements were humorous. I never thought that a hotel announcement could make me giggle.

Another fun aspect to staying at the Virgin Hotel was The Know program. Highlighting its commitments to excellent service, The Know program helps the hotel to stock a guest likes in their room. From pillow type to mini-fridge drinks, every preference was noted. Even my favorite snack was waiting with a note when I arrived.

The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. From helping with luggage to assisting with a lost driver, the staff was constantly on top of every detail. The hotel’s commitment to impeccable service was clear.

The Virgin Hotel Chicago offers a complimentary cocktail hour, rooftop bar with live performances, a coffee bar and a highly rated restaurant, Miss Ricky’s. Room rates vary depending on promotions and room type. To check availability and rates, please visit the Virgin’s website.
