Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Hulu

I’m just going to assume you want to RE-watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Because if you haven’t already made it through this cult classic, what are you even doing with your life?

Buffy holds up. Sure, it will get those nostalgic juices flowing with all its ’90s goodness, but at its heart, it’s a show about friendships, life’s purpose, and negotiating change. It has a way of topping fluff on top of substance, and spooning you a healthy dose of existentialism covered in slang and eyerolls. It’s really quite genius.

For the uninformed: BTVS focuses on Buffy Summers, the chosen one and Slayer, and her journey to protect the world from the Hellmouth positioned just under her California town of Sunnydale. We first meet Buffy in high school, as she struggles to come to terms with her powers and her destiny. She surrounds herself with a gang of other misfits who come to fulfill their own special roles in the fight against evil.

Buffy is a reluctant and de facto savior, and we never forget how hard this is on her relationships.  She is all of us as she grapples with her responsibilities, feelings of inadequacy, and the people she loves. Everybody loves Buffy, and it’s impossible not to see why.

Starring: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Xander Harris, David Boreanaz, and Anthony Head
