UNIQLO has launched a new collaboration with fashion designer Olympia Le-Tan, and it’s all about Minnie.

The Japanese fast-fashion brand UNIQLO has launched a new trendy yet affordable collection this week at their Disney Springs location. At first I was afraid this was a location exclusive, but fortunately we can all partake online! “Minnie Mouse Loves Dots” consists of women’s tees and bags featuring the beloved Disney character and her signature color palette + pattern, appropriate for youngsters and adults alike.

Le-Tan made her name in the world of high fashion with her psychedelic cuts, colors and patterns on the runway. With collection names like “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out” and “Psycho,” she is well-known for toeing the line between reality and fantasy. Both of these collections feature vintage-inspired girlish dresses and ensembles, with bright colors and textures. Of course she makes a great collaborator with Disney and UNIQLO.

The Collection

This collection is the newest among many, in an ongoing series by UNIQLO called The Disney Project. Since their introduction to The States, UNIQLO has coupled their brand with licensed imagery from famous artists, bands and other cultural influences, like KAWS, Basquiat, Andy Warhol and more. Le-Tan’s contribution to the fashion powerhouse is the latest in a long line of fun and reasonably-priced garb.

I’m a big fan of UNIQLO because they take basic beyond basic, if you know what I mean. Yeah, you can buy underwear and leggings there, but you can also buy pieces that have personality that aren’t a huge investment. Also they alter for free! People, this changed my life!

I personally can’t wait to get my hands on some of these Minnie pieces. The wide, cropped cut of the tees will make them easy to style tucked into some high-waist jeans, or worn loose over something more form-fitting. Also the little clutches and handbags are fun and youthful. But not embarrassingly so (you can tote one and still dress your age!). Hopefully it won’t sell out too quickly!
