Live-Action Teen Titans and a New Season of Young Justice Are On Their Way

Teen Titans is getting the live-action treatment! And a new season of Young Justice is coming to DC’s new streaming service.

Teen Titans are a go! DC has announced they are starting their own streaming service where they will release new seasons of Young Justice and a live-action version of Teen Titans called Titans.

Titans will be written by Akiva Goldsman (who is also penning the new streaming-only Star Trek), Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti. Berlanti is the man responsible for all 8500 DC shows on the CW.

Titans will centre on Dick Grayson (Robin) as he leads the team consisting of Starfire, Raven and other characters to be determined. The popular animated series Teen Tians rounded out the cast with Beast Boy and Cyborg, but since Cyborg is joining the Justice League, he may not appear as a Titan.

Or maybe he will! DC clearly keeps their TV and movies separate. And are already committing to two iterations of The Flash and Superman, so why not two Cyborgs?

There might also be two or even three Dick Graysons running around! He’s the leader of the Titans (likely as Robin), a part of the Young Justice team (as Nightwing) and possibly in the DCEU films. There’s been rumours of a Nightwing film, plus he could easily show up in the standalone Batman or Batgirl movies.

Young Justice was confirmed to be revived last year with fans thinking Netflix had saved the day. Turns out it”ll be available only on this new streaming service. Hopefully it will be a) widely available, especially for us international fans and b) affordably priced.

Young Justice

The new season is called Young Justice: Outsiders and according to IGN will apparently see the team take on

"“meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.”"
