The end is near for Bette and Joan, both in the show and in their careers. Find out more about the Feud finale below!
Our ladies have faced off more times than we can count, broken each other’s hearts with cutting insults and too-far jabs more frequently than they’ve made small talk, and, perhaps what would have been most alarming to the real ladies themselves, have been exposed to us as the vulnerable, broken, hurting humans they were underneath all that glamour. And now, it’s time to say goodbye. The miniseries, which we always knew would only be 8 episodes, feels like it contains multitudes and spans lifetimes, mostly because, well, it kinda does. Check out the trailer below for one last sneak peek of the ladies’ final bows.
It’s clear this episode will focus a bit more on the women’s personal struggles in the latter parts of their careers, but it’s not super clear how much closure we’ll get between the two of them. The official synopsis gives us a bit more to go on re: the actual feud, but it’s still anyone’s guess whether the ladies will be willing or able to find any peace from their nearly lifelong rivalry as their careers, and lives, it seems, dwindle.
Check out the synopsis via TVGuide below:
"In the season finale, Joan accepts a leading role on a new film despite her deteriorating health. Later: Faced with a new rival, Bette reflects on her misplaced feud with Joan."
Feud has been quite the ride, and if the rest of the season was any indication, this finale is sure not to disappoint. Bette and Joan may be leaving our screens, but their legacies plus the legacy of this delightful, complicated, important show will surely keep their names in our mouths for many years to come. Just like they would have wanted.
