Starbucks unveiled the mystical, magical Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino. This highly anticipated drink soon will be all over social media feeds. But, do you want to drink it?

Unicorn food is hugely popular. The colorful, rainbow foods are popping up all over. Social media feeds showcase the rainbow of colors in cakes, pies and more. Starbucks joined this unicorn craze with the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino. But, should you drink it?

Before talking about the taste, the color is what drives this Starbucks drink. To be honest, the colors are really unnatural. The purples, fuchsias and blues in this drink aren’t really found in edible foods.

Remember, there is no blue food (blueberries aren’t blue). The blue technicolored swirls are insanely bright against the purples and pinks. Since the blue color is sporadic, it truly stands out.

The purples, fuchsias and pinks remind me of the fluffy unicorn in Despicable Me, without the fluffy part. The fantastical colors truly evoke the idea of the magical unicorn. To be honest, the colors make this Starbucks frappuccino fun.

No one spends over $5 just for a pretty colored drink. Does it taste good?

Many people have commented on the flavors of this frappuccino. Some people have even speculated that the drink changes flavors while drinking it. When I ordered this frappuccino, I asked the barrista about the flavor. I was told it had mango and some sour candy flavors.

To me, the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino tastes like drinking blended sour candies. If you like sour Skittles, Warheads or any of those types of treats, this drink is for you. The sour is the flavor that is most pronounced.

As for the mango flavor, I did taste mango. The mango tries to balance the sour. Tropical and sour are a good flavor combination, but this drink leans toward being really sweet. Admittedly, I prefer less sweet treats, so my opinion might be a little skewed.

Personally, I think the flavor changing aspect comes when the whipped cream topping melts into the frappuccino. Mixing together the drink and the whipped cream creates almost a creamsicle flavor. The whipped cream makes the sweet/sour a little less pronounced.
