Theme parks are big business. In this Travel Tuesday, we focus on Disney’s new Avatar and Star Wars immersive experiences.
Theme parks are popular destinations for all types of travelers. From the family looking to create lasting memories to fans looking for new experiences, theme parks need to entice visitors to the parks. With rising ticket prices, the immersive experiences are getting bigger and more imaginative. Disney is hoping that its new Avatar and Star Wars immersive experiences will bring more people to the parks.

Disney’s most expansive opening this summer is Avatar experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Pandora – The World of Avatar will have guests transported to an enchanted land. From bioluminescent rainforest to soaring banshees, guests will feel that they have entered James Cameron’s fantastical movie.
The Pandora world features two new rides. One ride offers guests the chance to fly on the back of a banshee. Soaring over the rainforest floor, Avatar Flight of Passage appears to be high thrills. Adapting some simulation technology, this ride should appeal to thrill enthusiasts.

The second Avatar ride is more sedate. The Navi River Journey is a family friendly ride. During a gentle ride down a rain forest river, guests can encounter the Na’vi Shaman of Songs. The colorful experience should be quite breathtaking.
Pandora – The World of Avatar to open May 27, 2017.
The new Pandora area adds some needed thrills to Animal Kingdom. While the animal exhibits are amazing, this park has few thrill rides. Hopefully, the new additions make guests stay longer at this Disney park.
After the recent Star Wars convention, Star Wars fans are looking for more ways to celebrate their favorite characters and stories. While a completely new Star Wars land isn’t set to open for a while Star Wars immersive experiences still bring a legion of fans.
Areas in Star Wars Launch Bay include meet BB-8, Launch Bay Theater, character encounters, The Cantina, themed galleries, and Launch Bay cargo.
The Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers numerous experiences for the ultimate fans. The multi-sensory Star Wars Launch Bay allows fans to become part of the Star Wars worlds. From behind the scenes footage to character encounters, Star Wars fans come back for more and more.

In addition to the Launch Bay area, younger guests can train to be a jedi. Guests can watch the March of the First Order down Hollywood Boulevard. Finally, the day ends with the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular at Disney Hollywood Studios’ Center Stage.

The multitude of Star Wars experiences makes Disney’s Hollywood Studios a must visit for fans. As the park expands its Star Wars areas, guests have more and more reasons to make return trips. The fan loyalty helps Disney to grow its park attendance.
