Every one needs a work wife. Someone who commiserates with you about how stupid and awful your jobs are. Amy is your girl. She can be a giant grouch about work (and, often, life in general) but sometimes that’s just what you need. You have to get in the gutter and just roll around in there, especially when you’re dealing with the retail-shopping public. Amy gets it, and she understands the need to vent.
Amy cares about her work-friends, but she definitely knows how to draw boundaries. You probably won’t do a lot of hanging out with her outside of work, but it’s always so much better when you’re are there together. When you hate your job, going to work everyday can be a soul-crushing experience, but Amy can turn your job-frown upside down.
She’s good at her job, nice to other employees, and respects the need to work to pay her bills, just like every other person in the world. She’s your average American worker, and with that comes a fair amount of discontent. Amy’s the friend you text during the endless staff meetings to complain and whine. You seek her out to eat lunch so you can break together, and you have endless inside jokes about everyone else.
