Fans of Harry Potter have been waiting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child to transfer to Broadway and now the show finally has a home!

According to SnitchseekerHarry Potter and the Cursed Child has finally found its Broadway home. For those who don’t know, the play following Harry and his children 19 years later, has been a hit in the West End for the last year.

And many American fans have been wondering when we’ll see the play on our side of the pond. Lucky for us, that news came in the form of a tweet from What’s On Stage and a quote from John Tiffany.

“It’s all sorted. We’ve got the Lyric Theatre, and I think we’re almost there with the actors. We open next year, spring.” So while we still have to wait a year to see the production, that’s better news than we’d been getting before.

At the Harry Potter Celebration this year, the most news we got was that it was coming to Broadway. That’s it. No date and no clue as to where it would be housed. But at least now we know it has a home and it is coming soon.

There hasn’t been any casting announcements yet but will Jamie Parker come to America as the boy who lived? Or will we have an American cast attempting to do English accents on stage? Whatever ends up happening, we’re just excited to finally get Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on our shore.
