The 2017 TCM Classic Film Festival has so many great titles. Here are 25 titles worth considering (or renting at home).
I can’t fathom any other network that inspires the devotion Turner Classic Movies (TCM) receives from its fans. Community outreach is important for any brand, but none could conjure up an audience for an all-out film festival, but for the last eight years TCM has done just that. Every spring fans descend on Los Angeles to experience the joys, tears and melodrama of countless films screened in some of the best Hollywood movie houses. TCM brings new movies into people’s lives, and allows them to revisit old favorites, all with an eye toward fostering an admiration for classic cinema.
This year, TCM will bring their brand of movie magic back, with a festival geared towards comedy in all its forms. I always say to truly experience the TCM Classic Film Festival you need to be in five places at once, and the 25 titles I’ve assembled here are a mix of old favorite and possible new ones. Thankfully you can see all my coverage from the TCM Classic Film Festival when it starts on April 6. Whether you’re on the ground in Los Angeles or watching festival coverage from Twitter, watching these titles will inspire memories or let you enjoy through osmosis.
