Pour a Glass, Production Began on Jessica Jones Season 2
Grab that bottle of whiskey and pour yourself a glass: Jessica Jones has begun production on Season 2, at long last.
Reports today confirmed that season 2 filming of Jessica Jones is now officially underway, just weeks after star Krysten Ritter and the rest of the Netflix Marvel club wrapped on The Defenders. It’s the day some of us feared would never come, the day we prayed for and has finally come around.
And that, my friends, calls for whiskey. Lots of whiskey.
"“Jessica Jones season two will be filming today in New York City on Broadway and West 101st Street, the same location used in season one for exterior shots of Jessica’s apartment and Alias Investigations.”"
Talk About Good News
As far as information goes for the sophomore season of Netflix’s Marvel hit, there is little to no dirt to be shared. Which makes the guessing game all that more fun. After Jessica took down and killed Kilgrave at the end of last season, there’s the mystery of who the next big bad could be.
Could it be Will Simpson, Trish’s former flame and a New York police officer with a shady military medical experiment past? Who’s back on the under-the-radar experimental drug that has him hulking out and murdering? If and when we see him again, whose team is he playing for? And what the hell is happening to him, really?
And what about Trish Walker, who in the comics universe is also known as Hellcat – will we get to see Trish rock her own superhero get up and join The Defenders? Truth be told, whether she does or doesn’t, my love for her runs deep. This is a woman who has beat the horrors life dealt her, turned her trauma into a motivator to get strong, to be powerful on her own – even as the human, non-superpower-wielding best friend to an actual superhuman. (She’s a force, all on her strong, independent own, and I love her deeply for it.)
Jessica Jones
And then we have Jessica, who finally took down the man who took so much from her. But can she live with that murder on her hands? As dark and twisted as she thinks she is, murder isn’t natural to her, and her conscience was heavy enough. And after Luke learned the truth about Jessica’s part in Reva’s death and left, will he ever be back? Will we see Jessica ever trust someone else, or herself for that matter, enough to love again?
And, of course, will we see much more of Claire Temple? How hard do we have to beg for this one? So many questions, and no answers, yet – but at least it’s all underway now. There’s hope.

There’s no date announcement yet for season 2, but there has been speculation that it will likely premiere on Netflix in early 2018. We’ll be waiting, and probably not that patiently.
