New Cast Announced for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has announced a new cast going into its second year run of the show. We have all the details.
The first year run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will end May 21st, but this doesn’t mean the show will be gone for very long. You can still catch Cursed Child when it resumes with a new cast May 24, 2017. The official Twitter account for the play revealed the first day of rehearsals has started and shared cast pictures. You might see some old, and new faces. Cursed Child producer Sonia Friedman and director John Tiffany are going to stay on for the show and hope for it to run for many years.

The notable cast members who are leaving the show are Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Granger), Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley), Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy), Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter), Alex Price (Draco Malfoy), Sam Clemmett (Albus Severus Potter) and Cherrelle Skeete (Rose Granger-Weasley). Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has had an incredible first-year run. While it might be sad to see the majority of original cast move on, it’s still going to be the same show that you love. The casting changes can’t help but bring a new perspective to an already amazing story.

Joining the cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is Jamie Glover (Harry Potter), Rakie Ayola (Hermione Granger), Thomas Aldridge (Ron Weasley), Samuel Blenkin (Scorpius Malfoy) Emma Lowndes (Ginny Potter), Theo Ancient (Albus Severus Potter). Former cast members Helen Aluko (Rose Granger-Weasley) and James Howard (Draco Malfoy) will be back for the second run of the show.
You can watch the second run of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child May 24th. Make sure you purchase your tickets when they go on sale April 25th.
