Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star Alison Sudol joins the all-star cast of political drama The Last Measure.
Believe it or not, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was the first major film role for Alison Sudol (aka Queenie). Sudol is a musician primarily, and she’d only starting acting a few years beforehand, with a recurring role on Transparent.
After stealing the show for many in Fantastic Beasts, it’s no surprise she’d be booking bigger and bigger roles going forward. She’s now joining The Last Measure as the female lead. She’ll be opposite actors like Sebastian Stan (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Hollywood legends Samuel L. Jackson, William Hurt, Peter Fonda and Christopher Plummer.
Here’s the synopsis, via The Hollywood Reporter.
"Based on the true story of a present-day cover-up investigation, ‘The Last Full Measure’ follows young Pentagon investigator Scott Huffman as he battles the political machine in Washington. He reluctantly teams with veterans of Operation Abilene to convince Congress to award the Medal of Honor to a courageous Air Force medic, William Pitsenbarger, who is seen saving the lives of more than 60 Marines who were ambushed in one of the bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War. As the battle waged on, and after the last helicopter left, he continued to save lives until his own was sacrificed."
Sebastian Stan will play Huffman and Alison Sudol plays his wife, Tara.
Filming has already commenced for the project with a handful of set photos already on Twitter. Those Sebastian Stan fans sure are quick.
Todd Robinson (White Squall, Lonely Hearts) is directing the film. With that all-star ensemble and highly relevant political plot, is it too soon to speculate this might be an Oscar contender? Probably.
Sudol will be busy over the next few months. Between The Last Measure (currently filming in Atlanta) and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. Beasts set to film this summer.
