9. The Proposal

Again, Parks and Recreation does big relationship moments with quite the flare. And Ben’s proposal to Leslie was no different. Try and watch it without crying, you can’t. It’s impossible. It is just so sweet and perfect for them and really, there was no better love story on television than that of Ben Wyatt and Leslie Knope.

The proposal was simple. Ben was maybe going to end up going to Florida to work on another campaign and Leslie had to give up the house she found for them. Ben suddenly realized what was most important to him and his life in that moment and he flew back to Pawnee to surprise her.

Leslie was looking at the house they would have bought and when she sees him, she asks what he is doing but he doesn’t say anything. He just gets on his knee and proposes to her. Honestly, even thinking about it makes me cry and it is just one of the best constructed scenes on television.

It wasn’t cheesy and it didn’t leave the audience rolling their eyes. In fact, it is still listed as one of the greatest proposal scenes of all time and that is something really special.
