Ben Wyatt is an accountant. So you know what that means? He’s a little too obsessed with money and trying to make sure his future is secure. So when Leslie and Ben found out they were having triplets, he nearly lost his mind trying to figure out how much it would all cost them.

But that’s not the only time Ben freaked out about money. It’s just how his mind works. After Ice Town, he was so afraid of losing money or making another town bankrupt that he was a stickler for it. Lucky for him, he has someone like Leslie to tell him when he’s being too much

Ben’s obsession with money is one of the reasons we love him. He just wants to do the best he can and that means he wants to fix whatever it is that caused him to think Ice Town was a good idea in the first place.

He wants to fix all his mistakes and that comes from being obsessed with money and accounting and figuring out what he can do to make Pawnee the best it can be. So yeah, money obsessions can be annoying but Ben’s is a genuine obsession because he just wants to help.
