The wait is over Wynonna Earp fans! The season 2 premiere date has just been released in a video by Wynonna Earp herself and her motley crew.
Last Spring, Wynonna Earp premiered its first season on Syfy and stole the hearts of fans across the world. This little feminist western follows the story of two sisters who are cursed with their grandfather’s past.
We’ve been waiting quite some time now for any news of a season 2 premiere, and it looks like that wait is finally over.
Check out this exclusive Entertainment Weekly clip that just dropped today from the Wynonna Earp cast:
You heard it right- Wynonna Earp is coming back on June 9th at 10/9c on Syfy!
Season 2 will still star Melanie Scrofano as Wynonna Earp, the gun-slinging, whiskey-drinking gal and Dominique Provost-Chalkley as Waverly Earp, Wynonna’s sister who’s currently facing some problems after she “touched the goo.” Then we have our gaggle of characters who complete this lovely show such as Kat Barrell as Officer Nicole Haught, Shamier Anderson as Deputy Marshall Xavier Dolls and Tim Rozon as Doc Holliday.
Variety recently spoke to showrunner Emily Andras about what’s next:
"“The stakes are higher than ever. Because we really examine the nature of family. Can you ever be a good person if you’re someone who is forced to make life-and-death decisions? At the same time, there is a lot of fun. These people really like each other. They make time for that.”"
If you haven’t watched the first season of Wynonna Earp yet (or you’re just an excited Earper ready to binge it again), lucky for you, it comes out on Netflix this Saturday, April 1.
