Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is nominated for another award, this time at the Teen Choice Book Awards.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is nominated for a Teen Choice Award! No, not those Teen Choice Awards. The Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards are a literary award voted on solely by children and teens, and Cursed Child was nominated this year in the teen category.

Here are the nominees:

  • A Court of Mist and Fury, by Sarah J. Maas (Bloomsbury Children’s Books)
  • Crooked Kingdom, by Leigh Bardugo (Macmillan/Henry Holt Books)
  • The Crown, by Kiera Cass (HarperCollins)
  • Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts 1 & 2, Special Rehearsal Edition Script, by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany (Scholastic)
  • The Sun Is Also a Star, by Nicola Yoon (Random House)
  • This Is Where It Ends, by Marieke Nijkamp (Sourcebooks Fire)
  • A Torch Against the Night, by Sabaa Tahir (Penguin Young Readers)

While the Harry Potter series is quite the literary juggernaut, there is still some serious competition in the category. Sarah J. Maas is a beloved young adult fantasy author, and Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows series has been a huge hit with readers. It’s hard to imagine a book award J.K. Rowling doesn’t win, but it’s always possible!

Cursed Child has racked up some awards and nominations for itself already, but mostly in regards to the stage play. It picked up a record-breaking 11 nominations at the Olivier Awards, and won 8 trophies at the WhatsOnStage awards. Let’s see if they can add another win to the tally!

The nominated books for the Teen Choice Book Awards were chosen by teens online at TeenReads.com, and the winner will be chosen by online votes as well.
