Carrie and Big

These two have widely been held as the model for modern relationships, but if this is what it means to find love in the 21st century, then no thanks. Carrie’s greatest love may have been Big, but he was also the man that hurt her the most. In fact, their love was a destructive force in a lot of folks life.

Big cheated on his girlfriend (and wife) with Carrie, and Carrie ruined one of the most healthy relationships she had when she cheated on Aidan. It seems romantic that their love is this unstoppable force, but their love is closer to tornado weather than any other natural occurrence.

Carrie, a (self-acclaimed) independent, modern woman, with a successful career and incredibly beautiful support system of like-minded women, chased after this man for years, and he treated her like a disposable nobody.

I’m not judging Carrie. In fact, I’ve done far worse in pursuit of a man that was obviously not in my best interest. But I am judging the pedestal we’ve put these two on. They were terrible for and to each other, and made each other’s lives miserable. Please tell me this isn’t what passes for modern love these days.
