Chris Craziness: March Madness Sweet 16 — Christina Aguilera vs. Christina Ricci

Welcome to the first round of Chris Craziness Sweet 16, where one of the best pop singers of all time gets in the ring with a macabre teen icon.

We’ve made it to the Sweet Sixteen, but there’s still some time left before we crown the top Chris. The entire tournament has been filled with several surprises. But there are a few that are predictable as ever, including Chris Evans and Chris Pratt’s steady ascension to the final round. The next round is the Elite Eight, but the underdog stories are always the most fun. Especially when a musician and American Idol alum has a chance of knocking Captain America out of the ring.

However, either winner from today’s match-up would be phenomenal because both of these Christina’s are amazing.

Christina Aguilera (Singer)

In the late ’90s, Christina Aguilera became a household name because of her showstopping vocals that blew the world away. She came up at a time when the competition was pretty stiff as boy bands and folks like Britney Spears were just starting out. But Christina Aguilera has endure due to her edgy style and no nonsense attitude that doesn’t take any prisoners. Plus, haven’t you ever heard her sing? No contest.

As a faithful Addams Family fan and lover of cheesy teen movies like Caspar and Now and Then, I’m so happy to see that other people appreciate Christina Ricci, who’s as edgy as Christina Aguilera but in a different way. After her teenage days, Christina Ricci mostly starred in films with darker tones, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a great actress … she’s just reaching a different audience. If she decided to pick up and star in a Marvel film — which is a job I hope she’d got pretty easily if she wanted to — people would jump on the bandwagon.
