11. She found true love

I still ship Dany and Khal Drogo so hard. Though the relationship started out as nothing more than an arrangement, these two truly found within each other a deep love and respect that shined outward, creating a whole new brand of khalasar.

When we first met Khal Drogo, we saw a brutish man who didn’t seem to care for Dany at all. But in her desire to be a good wife to him, she unlocked a soft spot where even the strongest Khal became humbled and gentle. It was an absolute joy to see Dany and Drogo’s relationship unfold in the first season. He was a man who would do anything for his woman ,and she knew it. They both made each other better by bringing out the best within themselves first, and then each other.

Finding love brings out the best in us. We become who we are truly meant to be, and sometimes it’s a rocky road to get there. Unfortunately, dark magic took away the love of Dany’s life, but the lessons he taught her through words and through feelings are things she’s carried with her all the way to the Great Pyramid of Meereen and beyond. That kind of love stays with you long after the person is gone. While we think Dany found love within Daario, it wasn’t necessarily meant to be. Even Dany herself said she doesn’t need a ruler by her side. She’s powerful enough to do it on her own, but that doesn’t mean she has to be suitor-less for the rest of her reign.
