J.K Rowling Strikes Again: Kushner and Trump, Slytherins?

We love to put people into their Hogwarts houses but J.K Rowling reminded us of an important point today: Not everyone gets into Hogwarts.

J.K Rowling has been very vocal about her views on politics as of recently. And today seems to be no different. And for good reason. A Twitter user took to the internet to share his opinion on what house Trump and his son in law would be a part of.

Lucky for us, Rowling wanted to have none of that. She responded to the claim that they would both be in Slytherin with the following:

She brings up a good point. So often we want to put everyone in houses that we don’t think about the fact that not everyone would get into Hogwarts. In fact, if they were even from magical families, both these men would definitely be squibs.

Either way, they don’t deserve a Hogwarts house. We’ve learned from the series about evil men and their desire for power, we don’t need real life men who are doing the same thing to taint the thing we love.

After all, we’re well aware of the fact that Donald Trump is Voldemort and his cabinet is made up of Death Eaters. (Bannon is definitely Dolores Umbridge.) But we have to remember that she’s right. They wouldn’t have gotten an acceptance letter in the first place. Not to Hogwarts and not to Ilvermorny.

So take our queen’s lesson to heart: not everyone is going to have a Hogwarts house. Why? Because not everyone deserves to go to Hogwarts. So I’ll bask in the knowledge that my school will never be tainted by these two men. They don’t deserve to have house pride.
