Fried Egg and Rice
I’m a big fan of tamago gohan, but this is a great way for those squeamish about raw eggs to enjoy the glories of egg and rice. You can mix this up in any number of ways with different ingredients, but I opted for a more Japanese approach, similar to how the recipe might be eaten in a place like Kakariko Village.
Breath of the Wild ingredients:
- Bird Egg
- Hylian Rice
Our ingredients:
- 1/2 cup rice, arborio or similar
- 1 egg
- 1 green onion, chopped
- soy sauce, to taste
- sesame seeds, to taste

- There’s nothing to this recipe. Cook the rice in 1 cup of water until fully cooked and sticky.
- While the rice is cooking, fry the egg in a greased skillet. Ensure it is fully cooked, but aim for runny yolks.
- Place the rice in a bowl and add soy sauce to taste. Sprinkle with green onions.
- Place the egg over the rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Break the yolk of the egg into the rice, and enjoy.
